Drawings and collages by The Impossible Machine and you!
Are you a drawing professional or a first timer? Everyone is welcome to join our drawings sessions. We have some material you can use, but also bring your favourite tools (pens, pencils, markers, crayons, brushes…) and join! For this special edition, bring collage materials like magazines, photo material, books as well. Every edition we invite a guest artist who can inspire us with a display of their work. For this edition, we’ve invited The Impossible Machine.
The Impossible Machine is a studio run by Dutch artist and designer Mirjam Dijkema (1984) who studied Design, Illustration and Art History. Currently Mirjam is teaching illustration and animation design at Minerva School of Arts in Groningen, and working as a self-employed poster designer and screen printer in her own print shop at the Biotoop in Haren. Her printing career started at the underground music club VERA. In her own work, but also together with her students, she investigates the limits of printing techniques, illustration and collage. On top of that, she currently studies Art & Science at Leiden University. Website

Tekeningen en collages door The Impossible Machine en jou!
Ben je al teken-professional of is het je eerste keer? Iedereen is welkom bij onze Drink & Draw, de vrijdagmiddagborrel waar getekend wordt. Breng je potloden, pennen, stiften, krijtjes en penselen mee en teken er op los, of kom gewoon gezellig langs om te kijken naar de expositie. Ter inspiratie nodigen we namelijk elke editie een gastkunstenaar uit die een expositie maakt met eigen werk. Voor deze editie is dat The Impossible Machine.
The Impossible Machine is kunstenaar en ontwerper Mirjam Dijkema (1984) die Design, Illustratie en Kunstgeschiedenis heeft gestudeerd. Momenteel is Mirjam docent illustration & animation design aan Academie Minerva in Groningen en werkt ze als zelfstandig posterontwerper en zeefdrukker in haar eigen drukkerij in de Biotoop in Haren. Haar carrière als zeefdrukker begon bij poppodium VERA. In haar eigen werk, maar ook samen met haar studenten, onderzoekt ze de grenzen van druktechnieken, illustratie en collage. Daarnaast studeert ze momenteel Art & Science aan de Universiteit Leiden. Website
